reconnecting with home

In November 2025, I traveled to Vietnam, the country of my parents’ birth, marking my first return in over eleven years and my first visit as an adult. This experience represented both a personal reconnection to the culture that shaped my upbringing and an opportunity to engage with it through a more mature and intentional lens. Because international travel is rare for me, I approached this trip with purpose—seeking to fully immerse myself in moments that felt both deeply familiar and newly discovered.

The photographs in this portfolio reflect that perspective. They document not only the visual landscape of Vietnam, but also my evolving relationship to it—capturing the intersection of heritage, memory, and rediscovery. Each image represents an effort to honor a culture that has always been part of my identity, while thoughtfully observing it as both an insider and an outsider.
